Upcoming friday, the 12th of december we (Saskia de Valk and I) will participate in a group exhibition in SBK Amsterdam.
This is a lovely large space in the formal passenger terminal of the KNSM (royal dutch navigation association)
We will attend with an installation that is all about flora. Sewn treasures of Saskia will be combined with some of my drawings and handprinted work. And there will be more…..please be welcome!
this fall you are most welcome to have a coffee while peeking at my work at KOKO’s. Oudezijds Achterburgwal 145, Amsterdam. A lovely hideaway in the middle of the red light district.
You can take a look at my new series called INK+PAPER. A result of one afternoon experimenting, messy hands, frustration and relief at the Graphic workspace in the eastern part of Amsterdam.
Simply Slow visited our studio and Jitske Hagens took some really lovely pictures.
Saskia de Valk was featured in this month’s issue of Happinez. One of the pictures contains my aunt’s snapshot. (one f the 5 details-postcards)
Marie from Barcelona wrote a lovely blog about what I do and put it on the international blog called Hop3fully..
SIMPLY SLOW is a community embracing the art of authentic crafts. They want to inspire people to discover how unique everyday products are and seek the story behind them. One Sunday per month SIMPLY SLOW organizes a GET TOGETHER. At this GET TOGETHER I will document the world of printmaking together with Wiek Molin for Simply Slow. We will focus primarily on illustration and letterpress. It would be great if you bring your favorite quote/word/letter to simply nail it to your canvas. We will apply our little masterpieces to a surface using the presses at hand at the ‘Grafisch Werkcentrum Amsterdam’.
Yesss, they’re ready! Our seed pockets with either Marshmallow, Dandelion or Soapwort to grow and use for all sorts of purposes. But mainly to enjoy! You can even send them by mail …
Saskia de Valk and me developed them together. www.vlinderenvogel.nl
This bird started his life by saying ‘hello’ to all visitors of the ShowUp-fair in the summer of 2013. Somehow it stole the heart of Annemarieke (co-owner of SNOR publishers). She took it home and now Merel watches over the family in their kitchen. This is how she got featured in the cookbook of Yvonne, she collected stories and recipes of friends and used images of their kitchens to show where all the cooking-magic happens.
Until april 16th 2014, some of my work is on display at Hutspot (van Woustraat 4, Amsterdam)
Margot van der Krogt payd a visit to our studio in order to write a lovely story about my work. (she also shot the images;-)
Francis wrote such an enthusiastic and uplifting article about my work!!
